Flying in the UK
Guiding Trips
The idea behind
these trips is to get pilots away from their local sites
and allow them to get experience flying other sites
in the UK. There are many more sites in the UK that
are less crowded and whose local clubs would love to
have some new people around for a party. It's also
one of the best ways to make new friends.
I will go to as many different
flying sites as I can throughout the year. One weekend
I may be in Wales, the following weekend I could be
in Derbyshire, the Lake District or the Yorkshire Dales.
Basically, I’ll go where the best weather is likely
to be.
What About The Cost?
The cost will obviously vary
depending where we go, but the charges will be the same
wherever we go. At the moment that stands at £50 per
person per day.
Some clubs may charge charge a visiting
fee of around £5.00 - £10.00. Others may
insist we become full members. I'll give you details
as necessary in my email once I've made the final arrangements.
Week day trips
are available too, just specify weekday or weekend in
your email.
Based on
a group of six a typical UK weekend trip would cost
something like this:

The total obviously depends on whether
you're happy to stay under canvas or you want the luxury
of B&B.
Joining Instructions
If you would like to join us, then
it's very simple. Just send me an email (include a mobile
phone number if you have one) and I'll put you on my
contact list. As soon as a weekend (or tow weekdays)
looks viable, then I will email or SMS everyone on that
list with full details.
The first people to respond to my
email and pay for their place will get to join us.
